John Day Engineering was established in 1985 by John Day with the acquisition of the ‘Welford Engineering Company’. The company has steadily expanded over the years and has built a large and loyal customer base through exceptional customer service, honestly delivered and competitively priced. In 1990, John Day Engineering were awarded a Zetor tractor franchise for Berkshire and later expanded into Hampshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. In 2020, John Day Engineering were very proud to have been awarded the Case IH Agricultural franchise. The company now offers an after sales service and extensive spare parts list for all plant and machinery makes and models in addition to the transportation of farm machinery, plant and abnormal loads. Today, John Day Engineering employs a professional team of staff dedicated to providing a first rate service to all our customers, big and small.
Chris has over 30 years experience in the agricultural industry, having worked on farms and for a large machinery manufacturer before graduating from Harper Adams Agricultural College and joining the family business. Chris now looks after the Sales and transport operations of John Day Engineering.
Robin has a vast experience in the agricultural machinery industry, carrying out an apprenticeship with a large machinery dealership, before working for a manufacturer, and setting up the business some 30 years ago with Chris and their late father John. Robin has over 40 years experience in the Farm Machinery industry and now looks after the After Sales side of John Day Engineering.
Iain comes from a farming background, having completed an apprenticeship with a large dealer and worked for many years in the aftersales side of the business. With his immense technical experience, Iain is now in our agricultural sales department. Iain can be contacted on 07387 107222.
Granger has been in agriculture since he was 10, having worked on farms and workshops. He comes from building his own agricultural contracting firm for 8 years gaining valuable experience in all aspects of agricultural, groundworks and forestry work, developing a good understanding of the whole sector. Agriculture has been a passion of his since he was young. In his spare time he enjoys restoring and playing with tractors, timber lorrys and steam engines.
Coming from a background in agriculture, road haulage and hospitality event management, John Day Engineering seemed the obvious choice in the next stage in Scotts career. Being part of the great team at JDE servicing a busy calendar throughout the year at events, shows and demonstrations across the UK and beyond feels a natural, perfect mix with the experience and attention to detail from previous positions.
In addition to the event work, planning deliveries to customers dealer networks across the UK, past experience in planning deliveries ensures deadlines, compliance and customers service levels are met if not exceeded.
Grahame joined the team in April 23 with over 24 years of automotive aftersales experience and is looking forward to learning everything the agricultural world has to offer.
David has a wealth of experience previously working in other agricultural machinery stores, he joined us in September 2019.

Annie has worked for John Day Engineering for 4 years and has an extensive agricultural background. She ensures the smooth running of our after sales, support and service departments, as well as helping the Haulage team.
